This Operatic Waiter concept remains totally unique in the industry and has become one of the most sought after acts on the national and international corporate entertainment circuit. Their charter is to provide sophisticated, high quality entertainment, with a sense of humor and an element of surprise. Over the last six years we have been thrilled in producing and developing the unique entertainment concept that is now well known all over the world.
Having performed more than 4,000 shows in 55 countries with over 60 performers performing for us worldwide, They have become one of the most sought after acts in the national and international corporate entertainment sector. Over the last 20 years both of us have been fortunate enough to have been involved in the wonderful world of show business, treading the boards of opera, musical theatre, rock opera, plays, film and television. It is due to this exposure in the industry that we have been able to pull together the finest group of performers.
All of our performers are solo performers in their own right with a vast professional experience in both opera and musical theatre. Each performer has come through a rigid audition process as not only is it imperative that they are outstanding vocalists but must also be good actors, improvisers and bring with them a unique personality. No matter how different the audiences are, their reaction is always the same - sheer enjoyment, surprise and elation.
To enhance the ambience of your event we also offer the services of our pianist who plays background music throughout as well as performing for our show. We provide pre-recorded piano tracks on CD. Most performances are done with this option. As an important part of the act, each performer actually works the floor as a waiter for some time before the performance begins. They also dress and act the same as the waiters thus giving no clues of what is about to come.
Picture your next corporate function, dinner. The evening is running according to plan with the usual mixing and mingling of invited guests and clients. Suddenly, one of the food or beverage waiters bursts into an aria from a well-known opera or song from a popular Broadway musical. Your guests are simultaneously stunned by the waiter’s behaviour and intrigued by the fact that the waiter sang so well! As the evening progresses, another waiter effects a similar spontaneous rendition of his own - with matching professional aplomb! At this stage, the collective audience realizes that all is not as it seems and they begin to anticipate some progression of the unexpected yet highly enjoyable theatrics...Just as the two waiters satisfy this anticipation by staging an impromptu vocal the audience are then further surprised by a gate crashing third waiter. To everyone’s surprise they take turns bursting into operatic song. This is just the beginning of a sophisticated, audience interactive, funny and thoroughly entertaining performance. The structure and content of the show suits a wide spectrum of audience taste by taking away the seriousness often associated with opera and adding an element of fun, spontaneity and surprise. With repertoire consisting of arias made famous by the Three Tenors along with well-known songs from popular musicals, the show has proven equally successful with an audience of football players through to the most discerning opera buffs.

Let us enhance your special day with a lively and unforgettable experience! We love doing weddings and have performed at around 300 to date.
How The Show Works
Sophisticated, spontaneous and loads of fun, the show involves three talented singers posing as “real” waiters at an event before unleashing a dynamic performance a la The Three Tenors.
The show is not a “Wacky Waiters” show. The performers do not trip up, or spill drinks or food.
The three performers infiltrate as “real” waiters from the commencement of the event up to the time of performance. This is typically fulfilled by possibly topping off drinks and generally being seen. It is essential that the performers are seen to be “real” waiters so as to strengthen the surprise element about to unfold.
There are three waiters: Alfredo the Italian, poses as the Banquet Captain, he is well mannered and meticulous and dresses in his own black suit or alternatively wears the attire suitable to the venue.
Jean-Marc, the French waiter and the third waiter are dressed exactly as the other waiter staff of the venue.
There are two short announcements (40 seconds duration) made by Alfredo which establish his character leading up to the commencement of the actual show.
Announcement # 1:
During the appetizer (or thereabouts)
Announcement # 2:
Before the Entrée is laid
It is at this time Alfredo sings a huge operatic note prompting thunderous applause. He bows and announces that a guest offered him $ 50 to do so. He thanks the guest and leaves the stage.
The Show Commences:
Once Entrée has been laid
and drinks have been topped off, Jean-Marc, the French waiter, makes his way to the stage and politely announces that another guest has offered him $ 100. He proceeds to sing a full aria….in Italian. Alfredo is Italian. Alfredo is not very happy…
The plot thickens as Alfredo and Jean-Marc challenge each others vocals abilities. Just as they agree to sing something together, a third waiter bursts into the scene. He is American. The show evolves into a dynamic vocal trio and only at the finale are their true identities revealed.
It is very important that the venue staff are informed that much of the show is performed amongst the audience and for safety reasons and liability, all service must cease during the show.
Requirements
It is the responsibility of the client to organize and provide the required equipment. The show is based on three operatic performers who hoax during the event as real waiters before culminating in a “Three Tenors” style show. Most of the show is performed in amongst the audience with a small percentage on stage.
Sound Production
Critical to the performance is a surround sound “concert hall” effect. This is created by placing the speakers evenly around the room, front and rear to obtain equal sound coverage from wherever the performers move. If all speakers are placed at one end of the room this will not create the desired effect regardless of their output. The PA system must be suitable to the venue size and suitable to amplify three strong male voices. If you are considering using the equipment of other forms of entertainment for our show ie, the band or D.J, it is imperative that this is discussed and approved by Mardar Management, Inc.
