Known as "The Romantic of Salsa," the Columbian native born lead singer in this orchestra is truly one of Salsa's romantic heartthrobs.  His ballads have a winning combination of desperation and vulnerability that makes his vocals into a wrenching melodrama while his rhythmatic, driving beats heat the crowd to a dancing frenzy.  Additionally, the band features a female singer for American music, thus providing a wonderful versatility and appeal to a wide audience. The orchestra has participated in countless international festivals from Colombia to Holland including the Cali Fair in Cali Colombia and the Scheveningen Song Festiva l in Amsterdam where the lead singer was recognized as Best Performer.
Salsa Orchestra 2
In the United States, the band has performed across the nation including New York, Miami, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.  Appearances include the Columbian Independence Festival in New York with a crowd of 3/4 of a million, RMM's 10th Anniversary concert in New York (nationally televised), the Festival Calle Broadway in Miami, the L.A. Fiesta Broadway and the annual Hollywood Salsa and Latin Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl.

The orchestra has had occasion to perform with widely recognized figures in Salsa music such as Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Luis Enrique, Eddie Santiago, Marc Anthony and many more.  In fact, Celia Cruz, the "Queen" of Salsa, was so impressed that she has established this orchestra as hers when touring the West Coast.

The lead singer recorded his first album in 1984 and his 1996 album included a song that climbed to #4 on the national Billboard charts.

Accompanied by a very talented group of musicians, the band has performed in such events and places as Fiesta Broadway, Telemundo''s Fiesta Del Sol, Festival Calle Ocho in Miami, Colombian Independence Festival at the Flushing Meadows Park in New-York. Such as Willy Chirino, Group Niche, "El Rey Del Timbale" Tito Puente, India, Jerry Rivera, Marc Anthony, Jose Alberto " El Canario" and many others. " The Queen of Salsa" herself Celia Cruz had chosen Yari to be her official West Coast Orquestra.
